Brand new 24.2MP full-frame sensor
Like the original R6, the Canon R6 Mark II has a full-frame sensor, however its resolution has been increased to 24.2MP. This isn't a huge increase in resolution, but it does make the R6 II more versatile and a bit more competitive with similar cameras on the market. The 24.2MP sensor should deliver a good balance of resolution and manageable file size, plus excellent image quality across a wide range of ISOs. If you find yourself needing to crop your photos, the 24.2MP resolution is a bit easier than the 20MP R6.
Advanced DIGIC X image processor
While the sensor is completely new, this Canon mirrorless camera uses the same high-performance DIGIC X image processor as its predecessor. This is still Canon's latest generation DIGIC chip and is also the chip that powers the high-end R3 camera. Like the R6, the R6 Mark II has the same wide ISO sensitivity range with a native ISO range spanning from ISO 100-104,200 and expandable down to ISO 50 and up to ISO 204,800.
Continuous shooting at 40fps with electronic shutter and 12fps with mechanical shutter
Shooting speed is where the Canon EOS R6 Mark II camera really shines. With a mechanical shutter, the R6 Mark II can shoot at 12fps with Servo AF, just like with the R6. However, when switching to the electronic shutter, the camera can shoot two times faster than the R6 at up to 40 fps with Servo AF. This is a fairly high parameter that usually only appears on BSI sensors with very high data transmission speeds.
Next level autofocus
Autofocus performance shows a big leap compared to the R6. Canon says the autofocus on the R6 II is more advanced than any Canon camera model to date, including the R3. Specifically, in addition to the ability to recognize people, cars, animals and birds, the Canon R6 II is now capable of recognizing planes, trains and horses.
Anti-vibration of the camera body up to 8 stops
The Canon R6 II camera features powerful in-body image stabilization for both stills and video shooting. Like the R6, the R6 Mark II's IBIS system is rated for an impressive 8-stop stability compensation. Stabilization also works in conjunction with the optical image stabilization of native RF lenses and modified EF lenses.Thank you for choosing Canon EOS.
